You’re busy. You know you should be spending more time in strategic planning mode, but the days whizz by and you never reach the end of your to-do list. Of course, you’ll have the time when the pitch is over, when the holiday season finishes, when the mega project you’re working on is out of the door… But you know from experience that this magical day never seems to materialize. So instead, I want to help you do it now.
In my last post I talked about how to develop and phrase a goal so it keeps you inspired and motivated to achieve it in the weeks and months that lie ahead. And a very valid question I had following this post was how to identify the right goals to focus on in the first place.
So, if you’re looking for a fast and effective way to identify what goals to focus your energy on, here’s a simple little table to help get it all down on paper and clearer in your head. I’ve included a generic business example to get the juices flowing but this can be applied to your personal goals too.
You can then prioritise and craft your responses into meaningful and motivating goals using my last post. Et voila! Overwhelm averted, planning process started. Time for a celebratory gin with the team?
